Answers:

I'm new to massage- what can I expect to happen during my treatment?

Upon arrival at my facility for the first time, you will fill out a patient information sheet and be interviewed by me. We do this confidential interview to determine if there are any reasons NOT to do your massage before we start and to determine any of your problem areas. Any questions and concerns you have can be brought up at this point. Your therapist will then take you into the massage room and show you where your session will take place. He/She will then leave you in the room to disrobe (most clients leave their underwear bottoms on unless their gluteal(butt) muscles are worked on) Our clients are always discreetly draped with a sheet and/or blanket uncovering only the area we are working on. After the massage, your therapist will wait in the office while you get dressed. After you are dressed, he/she will meet you in the office to collect payment and schedule your next appointment, if you are ready to schedule one. We are professionally licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board for Massage Therapy and have strict non-sexual policies.

We are proud members of the American Massage Therapy Association or the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals organizations and subscribe to the code of ethics that they stand by.

What type of massage should I book?

If you are having pain and you'd like relief, then book an Initial Consultation or a Therapeutic Massage. If you are looking for a Spa-Type Relaxation Massage, then Book a Swedish Massage or Relaxation Massage. If you still aren't sure, then call us and ask to have a therapist call you back to discuss it with you. Either way you'll be covered because we will interview you at your first appointment to determine what is best for you. Each session is tailored just for you, for today's needs, so don't worry.

How long should my appointment be?

It depends on your reason for coming. If today is your first appointment, then 60 or 90 Minutes for an Initial Consultation. If you want to skip the Initial Consult and just get a treatment, then a 1 hour appointment is a great starter to let the therapist decide how long future appointments should be for you. If you've been to another therapist before, just schedule the same length you've grown accustomed to. You know what you like, don't you?

I'm pregnant- should I get a massage?

Absolutely! If you have been getting regular massage, then keep coming in during your pregnancy. Otherwise, don't come in for a visit until you are at least 14 weeks along. At any rate, talk to your OB/GYN to determine when would be good for you. Get a prescription from your OB and save a little on your treatments. You will want to come in weekly, especially in the third trimester.

I'm nervous about getting on a massage table- how strong are your tables?

Our electric lift massage tables are the best in the industry. They lift over 450 lbs and can hold static weights of even more while we are pushing, pulling and working you. Don't worry about this- our tables will definitely hold you fine.

What type of massage cream do you use?

We use Earthlite Massage Lotion in our practice. This lotion has a great glide to it, is all natural, is fortified with Vitamins A,E and C and has a great absorption into your skin. Bottom line, you won't feel greasy after your massage with us. If you have a specific massage lubricant you'd rather we use, feel free to bring it in and ask your therapist to use it on you. We honor most requests for this service, provided what you bring into us is also all natural and your therapist can actually work with it. Check with your therapist for any special requests in this regard.

  • Cash
  • Personal Checks

Why do I have to pay sales tax on my massage?

Governor Taft and his cronies are making us pay tax on a medical service for the first time ever- it's been 88 years. Maybe the current governor will change this, but you can avoid Sales Tax by bringing in a Prescription from your Dr. or Chiropractor that states "massage as needed." We don't like this, but we don't have a choice in the matter, so get yourself a referral from your doctor and make all of our lives just a little bit easier to live.

What is a Treatment Plan?
